EuroDesert Roses was established to provide a vehicle through which many of the rare roses that we imported from Europe could be made available to rose growers in the United States -- hence the "Euro" in our name.
We are located in Morongo Valley, in the Southern California high desert (elevation roughly 3,000 ft. above sea level) -- hence the "Desert" in our name. Morongo Valley is about 30 miles (one-half hour by car) from Palm Springs, but due to the difference in elevation it can be quite a bit cooler here, particularly in winter when temperatures often dip below freezing and we receive the occasional snow fall during winter months.
The EuroDesert Rose Garden consisted of over 5,000 roses, representing 3,800 varieties, roughly 700 of which were not commercially available in the U.S., except those varieties sold through EuroDesert Roses.
The nursery closed in winter 2011 and the dismantling of the garden continued through September 2011.
